'007 Keynote Speaker :: Penelope Burk
A highly sought-after presenter and researcher, Penelope has written two books and more than fifty seminars, training programs, articles, and plays especially for not for profit organizations. Her presentations are widely acclaimed as unique, engaging and among the most effective training programs in the sector today.
Penelope’s leading edge research in donor communication resulted in the publication of Donor-Centered Fundraising in 2003. The book is the only statistically based research ever published on the effect of meaningful communication on donor retention and gift value.
Scholarships :: Requests Due September 28
An important part of the work of the local AFP chapters is to provide scholarships to those who might not be able to attend the conference without some financial assistance.
Preference is given to individuals serving small organizations with limited resources.

Sponsors and Exhibitors
For exhibitors too, Philanthropy Day is a learning experience. Putting faces to names and email addresses is vital, but hearing from past, present, and potential customers about their needs, frustrations, and happy resolutions of problems is also important. It’s how the exhibitors learn to tailor their products to best serve the not-for-profit community and the fundraisers making their best effort to generate needed dollars.
This year’s Philanthropy Day has a great theme and a terrific group of speakers and presenters, so a large crowd is expected. And this year marks a great opportunity to present your products, because a separate track has been created for Exhibitors! Right in the Exhibit Hall, there will be a Buzz Theater, so that you can give a presentation about your product without having to go to a small off-in-the-corner room. You’ll be right there and easily seen, heard, and recognized!
If you’re a potential exhibitor and you haven’t made your plans yet to be at Philanthropy Day, now’s the time to jump in and make sure you’re represented.
Contact Ned Hogan, Sponsors Chairman, and sign up for your spot in the Hall and your place in Track 7 for the Buzz Theater!
